How do you know if you are ready to join the church? If the Lord has done a work of grace in your heart, then you are not only qualified for membership, but called—simply by virtue of His gift of salvation—to unite yourself to His people. The call to separate oneself from the world and to identify yourself with the stigma of the cross is God’s will for all of His children. If you believe this to be true and are ready to establish membership by joining the Tower of Power Gospel Ministries, we welcome you and your family to our church with open arms.
Types of Membership
Joining our church is easy! To ensure no one is left out because of their geographical location, Tower of Power has established two types of memberships, the Resident Member and Non-Resident Member. The two types of memberships allow visitors to make a decision about joining our church without any pressure.
The Resident Member is that individual who has made a decision to unite with our church on a full time basis; attending regularly, giving consistently, and lending their talents to the work of the Lord.
The Non-Resident Member is like a partner in ministry who may already have a church home but has decided to attend our services, give, and, use their talent at our church when they can. As a Non-Resident Member you have the same rights and privileges as a Resident Member.
Can Children Be Members?
Yes. Children who demonstrate through their personal testimony and fruit of the Spirit that they have decided to trust and follow Christ. Those who have been baptized as a believer, may become members of our church. The process for becoming a member varies depending upon the age of your child.
My Child Has Already Been Baptized
If the child has already been baptized, then the child along with a parent will meet with our pastor. The pastor will hear the personal testimony from both the parent and the child. If possible, we also ask that the child share his/her personal testimony. After meeting with the pastor to discuss their testimony, the child will then be an official member of our church.
My Child Has Never Been Baptized
A child who has professed faith in Jesus Christ and desires baptism will be prepared for baptism by working with their parents (or a spiritual leader within the church if a parent is not available) through a resource that will teach them what it means to trust and follow Christ. We want to equip and support parents to take the lead in instructing their child on what it means to be a follower of Christ and preparing them for baptism. Before being baptized, a minister will ensure the child's understanding of what it means to be baptized by meeting with them and the parents. Once the child is ready, he/she will be baptized on a date that works for the church and the family.
Adults Who Have Never Been Baptized
Adults who have never been baptized will meet with a minister to ensure your understanding of what it means to be baptized. Once you have met with a staff member, you will be baptized on the next scheduled baptism at our church.
