Father's Day is a celebration honoring fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in our society. At Tower of Power, we recognize all fathers during our Sunday morning worship service. The youngest and oldest fathers of our church are presented with a small gift.
Easter Sunday is another time, we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is typically the most well-attended Sunday service of the year. The adult choir sings praise and worship songs. The children and youth ministry perform a special praise dance or skit.
Seasoned Citizens’ Day
Vacation Bible School
Seasoned Citizens’ Day is a day of pampering designed to show appreciation and love for the Tower of Power members who are 62-years of age and older through Christian fellowship. We honor and treat our senior citizens like kings and queens for a day with a flower, presentation of gifts, limo ride, and a free dinner.
One of the wonderful ways Tower of Power nurture and encourage graduates is to ensure our worship service is special when they're honored. A special moment is set aside to recognize each graduate as they walk down the aisle. Our graduates receive inspiring words, centered on their future and walk with the Lord.
Tower of Power Vacation Bible School (VBS) provides sound, relevant Bible study that enable people to experience and respond to the gospel message in ways that are appropriate for them. VBS is for everyone regardless of age. Our VBS offers a unique opportunity for sharing Jesus Christ and positively impacting the kingdom of God.
James Staggers Day
National Night Out
Church anniversary is a time when we celebrate our past, while it thematically points to a vision of our future. We take time to impart and reflect our history, reconnect with former members, especially those who have moved away, and to highlight the church's central purpose in the local community. This is also another time where we praise God for all of our blessings.
James Stagger Day was initiated on October 20, 2013 by the Mayor of Texarkana, Arkansas to promote community involvement. For the entire month of October, we celebrate brotherhood each Sunday by placing spotlight on a male within our church who has been an inspiration to others. Click here to access TOP University to learn more about Mr. James Stagger.
Family & Friends Day and National Night Out is held on the first Tuesday in October from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Members of our ministry and visitors from the community attend this event to honor all of our First Responders such as the local Police Department, Fire Department, Emergency Medical Team, Military Veterans, and their families.
Thanksgiving in the Bible is the giving of thanks to God for everything that we receive at his hand. We receive from him our lives and the food and drink to sustain us. Every good thing in our lives comes ultimately from God and we owe him thanks for all. Our Thanksgiving service is all about giving thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Out of gratitude for what God has done for us, Christmas is a time when Tower of Power commemorate on the birth of Jesus Christ. We remember His birth by giving each other gifts, worshiping Him, and being especially conscious of the poor and less fortunate. Our Children and Youth Department gives a special performance for us to enjoy.
At times, our church choir either host a musical or gets invited to sing at another church. When we host a musical, we sing several songs and invite other church choirs to sing. Our musicals provide powerful great singing that is edifying for the soul. There is very little preaching but a time for accepting God into your life.
